Purpose:

To change the Council’s appointment of Director on Arkwood Developments Ltd from Councillor Claire Penny to Councillor Maurice Shakeshaft for the remainder of the 2024/25 Municipal Year.

Decision:

That Councillor Maurice Shakeshaft be appointed as the Council’s representative as Director on the Board of Arkwood Developments for the remainder of the 2024/25 Municipal Year.

Reasons for the decision:

To nominate a replacement representative to ensure the Board of Directors continues to have an elected Member representative, in accordance with the Company’s Governance Arrangements.

Alternative options considered:

The change in appointment is required to avoid a conflict of interest given the appointment of Councillor Claire Penny as the Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Economic Development and subsequently a Member of the Cabinet and Executive Shareholder Committee.
