Purpose:

To seek approval for a budget to be created in 2026/27 to deliver CCTV upgrades to NSDC’s cultural assets.

Decision:

AGREED That the Portfolio Holder approves that a budget be set up in 2026/27 for £200,000, financed from the Capital Reserve.

Reasons for the decision:

This work ensures the heritage and culture business unit retains its reputation as a top performing, modern and accessible service for the council as identified in Ambition 7 of the Community Plan.

Alternative options considered:

A ‘do nothing’ approach could be considered but will not futureproof these assets’ systems.
