The report Sets out the need for a Heritage Champion and the role they play in supporting the protection of the historic environment.

AGREED to appoint Councillor Andy Freeman, Chairman of the Planning Committee as the Heritage Champion.

The Heritage Champion contributes toward assisting with:

·       Continuing to maintain the high standard of cleanliness and appearance of the local environment; and

·       Improving the health and wellbeing of local residents

Not to appoint a Heritage Champion preventing the opportunity for the Champion to become a figurehead and voice for the historic environment.
