Chairman of the Council

Robert Crowe was born and bred in Newark and represents the Devon Ward where he was brought up.  He lives locally and is married with two daughters and a grand-daughter.

Following a career as an Electrical Sales Engineer, he currently serves as a District and Town Councillor for Devon Wards.

Rob was Town Mayor in 2015/16 and is a Past President of Newark Rugby Club, a Past President of Newark Rotary, Vice-President of the Newark Operatic Society and Secretary of Newark Twinning Association.

Civic Events

If you would like the Chairman to attend your event, please civic.office@nsdc.info, call 01636 650000 or write to the Chairman of the Council:

Once the chairman's office has confirmed the Chairman is able to visit or open your event, a civic engagement form will be sent to you. It would be helpful if this could be completed and returned as soon as possible. We would need it at least two weeks before the event, along with any other information or literature on your charity or company, or the event itself. This is particularly helpful if you have requested that you wish the chairman to make a speech.

Newark, Ollerton and Southwell

Each year Newark Town Council and Ollerton and Boughton Town Council appoint a Town Mayor who attends local and civic events representing the town council.

Southwell Town Council appoints a chairman and vice chairman each year
